Bioforin is driven by an alliance of entities committed to the territory and sustainable forest management. Each of these actors brings expertise and resources, collaborating to make a more sustainable local economy possible and prepared for future challenges.

Catalonia Bioenergy Cluster

The Catalonia Bioenergy Cluster is a non-profit association representing the professional bioenergy sector in Catalonia and aims to promote the sustainable use of bioenergy in the region.

CBC manages and coordinates the Bioforin project. It handles communication and dissemination to achieve the greatest possible impact, promoting both awareness and the future implementation, exploitation of results, and replication in other territories.

Eurecat

The Catalonia Technology Center is the technological reference for companies facing innovation challenges. Talent, experience, and infrastructure at the service of business competitiveness and environmental and social well-being.

In Bioforin, Eurecat participates in the study of energy performance and gases produced by the direct combustion of forest biomass, as well as the valorization of products from thermochemical processes for air, soil, and water treatment. They also conduct impact studies and analyze the technical feasibility of anaerobic digestion and thermochemical processes (pyrolysis, gasification, etc.) for forest biomass valorization.

BOSCAT

The Catalan Federation of Forest Associations – BOSCAT, is a non-profit organization promoting a paradigm shift in the forestry sector that recognizes forest ecosystem services and the potential of a forest-based bioeconomy.

In Bioforin, BOSCAT participates in developing a specific training plan for foremen, with educational modules adapted to the sector’s current needs.

Montnegre and Corredor Landowners Association

The Montnegre and Corredor Landowners Association (APMC) is a private non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Montnegre and Corredor. Their work focuses on disseminating good forestry practices and raising awareness of forest management, highlighting its importance in maintaining the balance of our forests and landscapes.

In Bioforin, they participate in implementing innovative forest management and developing a Forest Utilization Plan that is sustainable and resilient to the impacts of climate change.

Consortium for Waste Management of Vallès Oriental

This county consortium was established at the end of 1998, when the procedure began to approve and constitute the Consortium for Waste Management of Vallès Oriental, with the approval of its statutes, at the request of the County Council and several municipalities. Its aim was to create, manage, and provide unified services and activities of common interest regarding waste in our county, and to manage, through express delegation from its members, all activities and services related to its objectives and purposes, as set out in Article 1 of the statutes.

In Bioforin, the consortium participates in applying industrial biomass processes and creating a model for a bioregional industrial bioeconomy strategy.

Maresme Circular

The Consortium for Urban Solid Waste Treatment of Maresme is an administrative entity formed by the Barcelona Provincial Council, the Maresme County Council, and 28 municipalities in the Maresme region.

It participates in the Bioforin project in applying industrial biomass processes and creating a model for a bioregional industrial bioeconomy strategy.
